Swim Squad Dates July 2018

Please see the following dates for when swim squad is being held in July 2018

  • Monday 2nd July Swimming as per usual.
  • Monday 9th July NO SWIMMING.
  • Monday 16th July NO SWIMMING.
  • Monday 23rd July NO SWIMMING.
  • Monday 30th July Swimming as per usual and will be on every week for the rest of the quarter.

Swim Squad 2013

Happy New Year. Hope everyone has been training hard over the Christmas break.

Swim Squad starts tonight for the year (Thursday 3rd Jan 2013) at 19:30, further details can be found on the swim squad page or contact me (coaching@trifocus.com.au). Start your year off on the right stroke!

Learn to Swim

Trifocus is holding a 6 week learn to swim squad starting on Thursday 24 May 2012. The course runs for 6 weeks and is for a maximum of 6 people (minimum of 3 people required). The sessions will be held at Terrey Hills Swim School Myoora Rd Terrey Hills, from 19:00 – 20:00 each Thursday (this is a dedicated indoor heated swim pool 25m long). To book a place please email me at coaching@trifocus.com.au to confirm your place. Cost for the 6 weeks is $150.00 (paid in advance on confirmation of your place). The coach for this squad will be Didi (who will be known to people from CanToo).

Once full a wait list will be held in the event of a withdrawl and it is intended to repeat this course in Spring, places will be offered from this list first for any future courses

This Squad is ideal for someone who lacks confidence in their swimming and would like to improve to be able to complete things like, swimming for fitness, open water swim events, in preparation for CanToo training or triathlons. On completion of the 6 weeks if you want to continue with your swimming you will be able to join the regular squad swim which is also held on a Thursday night at the same time. By participating in the Learn to Swim it is also expected that you will swim during the week to develop the skills that you learn in each session, suggested training plans and sets will be provided for this purpose. At the completion of the Learn to Swim classes it is envisaged that we will hold a 6 week stroke correction class, if you want to put your name down in advance for stroke correction please also email me, places will be offered from this list first in the order that you are on the list.

2012 Quarter 1

2012 so far

It is hard to believe that the year has got away from me and I have not updated my blog. Well here goes for the year to date, what I can remember for the first quarter.

Ironman, whilst no races yet, I have been working with a number of athletes and Ironman season is almost upon us. Currently working towards Port Macquarie, Lanzarote, France, Cairns. Regensburg & UK with a number of athletes

Huskisson 2012, this was another great weekend of racing with a number of improved times over last year, the most notable was Steve who improved by around 45 min and dished out a good lesson to the coach in the process.

Races that have been used to monitor progress towards ironman are Batemans Bay Ironman 70.3 Singapore and Ball Buster duathlon. All results showed that Ironman preparations are on track.

Sydney ITU, a great race in my home city which included a good number of participants from swim and run squad and NSTC. We also formed a Trifocus team entry about 36 hours from race start, with the aim of participating and having some fun. What a brilliant race and background, highly recommended to do this race.

Parys is back in fine form, with solid performances, so far results are 1st in age group Thames Turbo Sprint (2nd female), 1st Clumber Park Duathlon and an outright win in the South Devon Coastal Trail run (10k), yes that is right she beat all the males too (great work) Emma also took out 2nd place female in the half marathon at the same event.

Swim squad continues with a plenty of solid training going on, with a couple of sets focussed on maximising distance in the hour.

Run squad, commenced in January and is growing steadily. As usual regular attendees are already posting good run improvements

CanToo, Mac Uni pod has grown this year starting with 40 participants preparing for SMH half marathon, it is great to be a part of this group as they achieve key milestones building towards their goal race, it is hard to believe we only have 2 more long runs to finish our build phase.
