The 2013 ITU final was held in London over the weekend. This event also hosted the age-group world championships for both the Sprint and Olympic distances.
I am very proud of some brilliant results. A result that just puts me in total awe and say she is nothing but awesome. Parys absolutely destroyed the field and not only won her age group by a considerable margin, but was the fastest female age grouper overall. It has been an absolute privilege to work with Parys over the last 5 years leading to this result. Having seen her work through highs and lows over this time and always coming back stronger each season is inspirational. A result of unrelenting dedication and perseverance to keep working to achieve her best.
Barbara decided that one race wasn’t enough so competed in both the sprint and Olympic distances. Achieving a 7th and 9th place respectively in her races. It was a very competitive field with none other than the Sydney 2000 gold medallist winning both of these events. In both events Barbara was the first Australian home in her age group. A brilliant result in her first season of tri. and Dwyn competing in her first world champs event placing 39th. Another result to be proud of in only her second season of tri, I know both of these ladies will be achieving greater results in future seasons.
