Swim Squad Dates July 2018

Please see the following dates for when swim squad is being held in July 2018

  • Monday 2nd July Swimming as per usual.
  • Monday 9th July NO SWIMMING.
  • Monday 16th July NO SWIMMING.
  • Monday 23rd July NO SWIMMING.
  • Monday 30th July Swimming as per usual and will be on every week for the rest of the quarter.

Kids Tri Summer 2018 Wrap

The initial Kids Tri program completed in April 2018. It was great to see how far each participant had progressed over the 10 weeks both in skill and fitness. The best compliment we received was how much each kid looks forward to training each week and can it continue over winter. We do need to break over Winter but the Spring 2018 program will start on 12 September 2018. This will be a 10 week program, but there will be a break during the School Holidays.

Throughout the program it was great to see and hear about participants doing well at the school sporting events in particular making Zone and State Swimming carnivals and State Cross Country Carnivals, with participants making significant improvements on previous years placings. This is down to consistency in Training.

We did finish the season with a duathlon at training with a chance to put the skills into practice. We also attended Tri Pink at Maroubra with great results placing in the top 4 place getters or above. Our last event was the NSTC (Northern Suburbs Triathlon Club) Obstathlon event, which was more of a focus on fun and participation, but the Trifocus team did shine through putting in strong performances.

We look forward to preparing for our next training block and look forward to adding more participants to the team.

Active Kids Provider

I am pleased to advise the the Kids Tri program is now registered as an Active Kids Provider. This means that you can utilise your $100 voucher towards the cost of the Kids Tri. Mantra for 2018

Do you have a mantra for 2018? This is more my mantra for life but will focus on this for 2018.

Nothing great can ever be achieved by taking the easy or soft options. Never take the easy road or path of least resistance. If you want it be prepared to work for it, make sacrifices, be determined and stay focussed on your goal. Don’t let anyone or feeble excuses get in your way. Get out there do the hard yards, make the hard decisions and the achievement and success will follow. It is there for the taking it just requires you to want it!

Runfocus Interval Training

Do you have what it takes?

What does it take to succeed in Triathlon? to answer this you firstly need to define success, to me this is to achieve your best and this is different for all, some it is to complete a Tri, others a PB or finish an Ironman whilst others want to qualify for certain events or win their chosen events. Yes ability does come into it in determining what is your best and the goals you set, but ability does not limit you from being your best or even being better than those who you have a perceived as having greater ability than you.

Three essential ingredients are required to put you on the path to racing to your best.

  1. Be self driven / motivated and committed to your training.
  2. Have a desire to improve.
  3. Have someone who you are accountable to and communicate with them regularly (this may be a coach!!!!)

Sure this is plug for coaching, if you feel that you have these 3 ingredients but have not put them together yet, have you thought about coaching, a coach can help you blend the key ingredients together and will help you set clear and realistic goals for your season (ie a plan). Dont let another season go by where you have not performed to your best on race day.

Swim Training Thur 17 Feb 19:30

Swim squad training is on tomorrow night Thursday 17 February 2011 at 19:30 Terrey Hills swim school. Continuing with drills focussed on our kick and streamlined and the main set pace control.

This is the last week of the introductory offer of $10 per swim.
