Relative Age Effect in Sport

Does a child’s birth date have an impact on their sporting career and selection prospects? I have chewed many an ear off from those polite enough to listen on my theories about how birth dates do impact in the developing years. Here is the article that supports it. https://believeperform.com/the-relative-age-effect-in-sport/

Go Series Race 1 2019/2020

It was great to finally get to race day after preparing for our race during this terms training sessions. Go-Series always puts on a great event and today was no exception. Special congratulations to our Tri debutants, Lily, Jake and Oliver. We were all well prepared not only fitness wise but with slick and smooth transitions. Whilst the focus is on having a go and doing your best it was especially pleasing to see 3 of our team win their respective category. We are looking for to race 2 on 16 February.

Our next training block starts on Wednesday 29 January 2020. Entries will open in the New Year.

Nepean Triathlon 2019

Nepean Triathlon is definitely my favourite Sydney race and obviously a favourite of many as this is Australia’s Oldest Triathlon.

Trifocus athletes were out racing on both days and we all had a great time. Super performance by our Female team of Grace, Alyson and Chris who won the female teams event by almost 12minutes and were the 5th team home overall. Great performances over the weekend. Most notably Grace who swam a national qualifying 5k time of 1:08:51 and a pb in the morning, backed up with a swim and ride in the afternoon and then on Sunday morning blitzed the 1k team swim in 16:28 with the nearest competitor over 2minutes behind. For the Kids tri both Charlie and Ellie performed well and enjoyed their races. I can’t wait for next year.
