Running not Recommended!

20160918_175533It is not hard to get my blood boiling, but saw this sign recently on a trail that I was about to run and I was completely dumbfounded. ref “Running is not recommended and will increase the risk of injury”

Who authorizes this negativity and where is the proof that it WILL increase the risk the risk of injury? I am not about to discuss the benefits  or Running v Walking the trail as in my opinion they are both beneficial, but we have a society that is becoming more inactive and unhealthy. We need to be encouraging more people to to get out and be active and not to stay at home thinking at least I wont get an injury!

As for me I am happy to take on the risk of getting an injury as the fitness and health benefits of being fit and active are much bigger, better and certain than the alleged risk! as for me I did run the trail, I did not get injured, I had a great time, didn’t see anyone else except my running companion and got to see a view that not many others have seen.
